Luxury accessories brand Travelteq is back and relaunches its iconic Italian leather bags after Ekster® took the helm. The unique and familiar design returns, but now with innovative solutions such as dedicated wireless charging placements and a lost & found tracker. The brand turns the bag into a stylish and smart extension for your daily life. The bags will be launched 21st July in the Travelteq webshop.
The brand, known from publications such as New York Times, Hypebeast and Monocle, has added ‘Smart Teq’ to the stylish bag to avoid clumsy and unnecessary situations. Everybody knows it; your battery runs out the moment you are expecting that important phone call, or driving onto the highway you realise you forgot your bag. Nowadays this should no longer be an issue. The addition of a dedicated internal pocket for an (optional) wireless powerbank allows your phone to charge wirelessly from the external front pocket. This way you’ll never be left without battery and will always be connected. The (optional) voice-operated Tracker Card (Forbes: “the most advanced solar-powered tracker to date”) makes your bag traceable via an automatic phone signal so you don’t lose or forget it. Smart solutions that will get you going in style through daily life, leaving any worries behind.
While the inside of the bag has been thoroughly renewed, the design on the outside remains faithful to the original design. Described by Hypebeast as “timeless design” and still made of the same Italian Vacchetta leather and luxurious LimontaⓇ nylon. A protective, custom-developed layer has been added to the leather, so the bag is immediately ready for years of daily use. For the time being, the ‘New Original Briefcase’ is available in three colours: iconic cognac, classic espresso and stylish black. All three are also available as ‘Messenger Briefcase’ with shoulder strap.
The brand, founded in 2009 by Michiel van Ogtrop and Maarten den Biggelaar and notoriously worn by, among others, King Willem-Alexander and TV personality Jort Kelder, is known for its iconic designs. Pieter Ottevanger: “Travelteq receives daily e-mails asking when the ‘Briefcase’ will be available again, we are proud that Travelteq will finally be back with a trusted yet innovative collection from 21st July. In future, we are looking to develop further innovations and products incorporating smart solutions on the go. For this reason, we will soon be launching our new Weekender bag in addition to the ‘Briefcase’ and ‘Messenger’.
The technological innovations brought in by Ekster, named the most successful smart -wallet brand in the world by Forbes, are the basis for this. Together with Travelteq’s design expertise, the brands form a strong combination from which both will benefit. “The goal is to develop an e-commerce platform, with Ekster’s experience, that will allow Travelteq to expand internationally and eventually make it the largest in the luxury bags segment”.
The new www.travelteq.com will be launched on 21st July 2020.
